Sometimes I think about things that have no answer. In order to understand the point(s) I'm about to make you are going to have to expand your thought process. I even brought this subject up to Lizzie and she made no comment. This usually means, "He's nuts"!
Let's assume you live in a town of 12,000. In this community you will find a number of restaurants, some upscale and others dives. You could find at least two large supermarkets, a Kroger, Hy-Vee, Winn-Dixie, or some other famous chain store you can visit all across the country. Then, each town has a MacDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Whataburger and a bunch of others. You get the picture. Now think of every small town, middle sized community and mega-city in the United States. There are literally hundreds of thousands of eating establishments and places to purchase your favorite food. Of course, I'm talking beef; sweet, succulent beef. Have you expanded your geographic horizons yet? My thought is there is absolutely no way our country and any others who export beef products into the US can offer enough to meet the demand. It's impossible. So I checked out gestation periods for mammals. The shortest gestation period, fourteen days, is that of a opossum. Other favorites under thirty days are rats and mice, rabbits and skunk. If you think you are getting a Big Mac with real ground round then think again. It has to be opossum or some other type of critter. Our next subject will be seafood. It opens up an entire new vista on what happens when you go to Long John Silver. Can you say 'slug'?
