Around 2:30 am this morning I found myself tossing and turning. All of a sudden a question popped into my head. "I wonder", I thought, "what is the exact population of China" understanding there is nothing exact. My Smart Phone was next to my bed so I googled the answer. It came out as 1.386 billion give or take a few hundred thousand. Then I nodded off.
This morning I wanted to take this population number in another direction so I looked up that of the U.S. and India for comparison. Our number is 327.2 million. That of India, surprisingly to me, is 1.339 billion.
Then I decided to find out the square miles of each nation. Ours is 3.79 million square miles. That of China is 3.705 million. That's pretty close and it I hope gives you a better idea of distances.
The square mileage of India is only 1.269 million. This goes to prove one thing. This population/square mile ratio explains why so many from the that nation ride on top of trains.
